The VTNE is a three-hour exam consisting of 170 questions covering nine domains of responsibility deemed essential for veterinary nurses.

The accredited distance learning program launched in 2014, and enrollment has increased exponentially. The college is just one of six institutions that deliver vet nursing through both modalities.
Dr. Jennifer Martin leads the 82-credit hour program. Instructors are Dr. Beth Fenton, Angie Harris, BS, RVT, Sheyenne Spady, RVT, and Dr. Gina Vanloenen. Amanda Hart serves as the Veterinary Nursing Enrollment and Retention Specialist.
